Meet the owners!

 James Wilkins III, and Vivien Surman, DVM began to envision a tack shop of their own when the owners of their favorite local tack shop  decided to retire.  Both long time Ithaca area residents, Jim grew up in near by Interlaken, NY. On the other hand, Vivien's charming accent is a dead giveaway that she was born and grew up (with an abiding passion for horses) in England. She happily relocated to the United States during her college years. She has since infected Jim with her love of horses, and they both ride and drive their herd of  Percherons, Spotted Draft/warmbloods , a Suffolk Punch and Spotted Gaited Saddle Horse. 

"Located on our farm, our store lies midway between the two largest Finger Lakes: Cayuga Lake (Ithaca) is to our east and Seneca Lake (Watkins Glen) is to the west.  We carry a large inventory of  English & Western saddles, bridles, halters, blankets, helmets, boots, apparel,  horsewear accessories and gifts for the horse lover. Come visit us, we think you will like what you see!!"

From ITHACA: From Rte 13 in Ithaca, take Rte 79 West (State St.) As you leave Ithaca you will pass Pete's Convenience Store & Gas Station on your right.  From that point travel ~ 9 miles on Rte 79 West.  You will come to an intersection - Waterburg Rd to the right, (Black Oak Rd. to the left). Turn RIGHT on Waterburg Rd., travel  ~1.4 miles and you will see our large sign and store on your RIGHT.

From Trumansburg: From  Rte 96 (Main St.) in Trumansburg (by the post office) take Rte 227 South for ~ 5 miles.  The speed limit will drop to 35 MPH before the intersection in Perry City. At the intersection, turn LEFT on County Rte 3 (Small blue county sign.) The next intersection you come to is Waterburg Rd. Turn RIGHT on Waterburg Rd., travel ~ 1.5 miles and you will see our large sign and store on your LEFT.

From Watkins Glen: Take Rte 414 North out of Watkins Glen.  As you go up the hill, stay straight  - road becomes Rte 79, going toward the village of Burdett.  Follow all Rte 79 and Ithaca signs.  Go through the village of Mecklenburg; once you leave the village, the second intersection will be Waterburg Rd. to the left, (Black Oak Rd. to the right).  Turn LEFT on Waterburg RD., travel ~1.4 miles and you will see our large sign and store on your RIGHT.
